Curriculum

Overfield's primary objectives are to help each child develop his or her own personality, broaden interests, build social skills and use his or her curiosity and creativity. Time is provided to all children to investigate, imagine, listen, observe and probe for deeper understanding. Their natural inquisitiveness is valued and each one is respected and honored as a young learner.  In a process that allows children to explore and see relationships, they are encouraged to talk about what they see and learn and document these important moments of insight.

"Teachers at Overfield are completely committed to their craft. They consistently model the things we want our children to learn - respect for others, a love of and an excitement for learning, clear communication, a sense of hospitality and friendliness."
- Jim McCutcheon "The Guitar Man", visiting artist
